Position Summary

Responsible for providing developmentally appropriate programs, lesson planning, and helping children with social skills. Maintaining the classroom environment, supervising children, parent-teacher conference, and supervision of classroom volunteers. Essential Functions: Ability to create and implement lesson plans Capability to understand and carry out written and oral direction Working with children one-on-one and in groups, supervising activities. Consistently planning innovative ways of keeping children actively engaged. Addressing the physical needs of the individual child or group. Assist students in learning their numbers, letters, shapes, and colors. Must be able to be mobile, sit, sitting on the floor, and move around the classroom. Follow all Health and Safety regulations Other duties needed to help drive our vision, and fulfill our mission, of “The Poor should never be treated poorly”. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED Required. Teacher certification, TECE 1 & 2, or equivalent college courses Required Equivalent work experience as an Early Childhood Teacher PREFERRED Qualifications and Skills: Ability to demonstrate empathy, warmth, compassion, genuineness, and positive regard for all children, parents, and co-workers. Capability to work independently Ability to use plain and simple language to communicate. Strong verbal and written communication skills Works well under pressure. Willingness to consent to and the ability to pass a criminal background check, and drug screening.
