Job description
The Floater / Substitute is responsible for assisting the classroom lead teacher with the general supervision and management of a class of children. He or she must be knowledgeable in developmental appropriate practices; have flexible hours that cover the needs of the center. The Floater / Substitute is responsible for assisting teachers in supervising all children in their room ensuring activities and curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning and implementing proprietary curriculum, and completing assessments and reports for the children
- Helps and supervises children during all activities
- Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise
- Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained
- Helps children with meal times and clean-up
- Helps with all academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position

- Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents, coworkers, and management
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, sit on the floor and interact with children
