Job Summary
The Graduate Student Assistant (GSA) for the Learning Commons Supplemental Instruction Program (SI) oversees SI operations for the Learning Commons or at satellite location(s). Manages student employees and data, and maintains visit records. Assists and trains SI Leaders on CCSS-Learning Commons SI policies, procedures, and operations. Organizes and updates Learning Commons SI resource materials. Researches and develops SI Leader training methods. Offers suggestions for effective SI training methods. Assists with class visits, browsing fairs, and campus events to increase student awareness of services. Works with the CCSS staff to develop outreach events and ideas. Coordinates efforts with campus partners to organize and promote services at satellite SI locations. Supports evaluation efforts and offers ideas for improving evaluation tools. Provides constructive feedback to SI Leaders after observing session(s).

Current University of Alabama graduate student. Bachelor's degree required.

Enrollment Requirements
Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
