Job description

Principal duties and responsibilities

To maintain high standards of personal and interpersonal functioning in job performance.

To supervise the use of the OWL Center by Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home youth and staff, and non-Louisiana Methodist Children's Home clubs, groups and agencies.

Provide programming utilizing OWL ropes course and resources, programs focusing on team building, leadership, and group dynamics. Assist in development of new ideas to further our mission statement.

Responsible for OWL recreation facilities, equipment, and supplies. Assist in maintenance of ongoing inventory.

Perform routine assembly, inspection and maintenance of challenge course, maze, mountain bikes, boats, canoes and other performance and safety equipment and supplies that are used in facilitation of group activities.

Assist in maintenance and general appearance and upkeep of OWL Center facilities and grounds as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must have a High School Diploma and be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with experience in program planning, recreation or a related field. Must be able to complete Challenge Course Instructors Certification. Currently certified or willing to obtain lifeguard certification. Must have or be able to obtain a chauffeur’s license.
