- Range: $15.00 - $15.00 HourlyPosition Summary The Benjamin Barnes YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Swim Instructors to lead swim instruction for children ages 4–14 in a half-day summer program. Instructors will provide a safe, engaging, and supportive environment while teaching water safety and swimming fundamentals. QualificationsQualifications Previous experience teaching or working with children preferred Strong swimming skills required CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Certification (or willingness to obtain before start date) Ability to lead groups and manage behavior in a positive manner Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Key Responsibilities Teach swim lessons to children of varying skill levels (ages 4–14) Ensure the safety and supervision of all participants at all times Develop and implement age-appropriate swim instruction and activities Promote water safety awareness and confidence in the water Maintain a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment Assist with setup and cleanup of program equipment and pool area Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and participants Follow all YMCA policies, procedures, and safety protocols
