Job description

  • USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app The Summer Housekeeping Staff will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and visitors at UNH while also preparing our residential buildings for our incoming fall students.
  • This role involves various cleaning and maintenance tasks across campus facilities, ensuring that all areas meet the university's standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Duties/Responsibilities Cleaning Duties: Perform routine cleaning tasks in bedrooms, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Dust and wipe surfaces, vacuum carpets, and sweep/mop floors.
  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining storage areas for cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Customer Service: Interact positively with students, staff, and visitors, addressing any inquiries or concerns related to housekeeping.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other housekeeping staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning services is a plus but not required. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
