Job description

The Paraprofessional will effectively assist students in our Reaching Higher Afterschool Program. Program begins in September and runs the entire school year until May. This is a part-time position working a maximum of 10 hours weekly. Program runs Monday-Thursday.

Positions are available at the schools listed below

1. Attwood New Tech Magnet School - Lansing, MI 48911 - Working with students in Grades 4-7 2. Mt. Hope Elementary School - Lansing, MI 48911 - Working with students in Grades 4-8

Minimum Qualifications: / Experience:

· High school diploma/GED.

· Demonstrated knowledge of youth.

· At least 2 years experience working with youth in a structured program setting.

· Shall be a person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.

Key

Duties: & Responsibilities:

· Engage and assist students during academic enrichment activities.

· Assist youth with homework and provide support for individualized tutoring.

· Manage students in a safe and productive way.

· Conduct yourself in a manner to serve as a mentor and role model.

· Cultivates positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff.

· Attends all mandatory meetings and completes all paperwork as required.

· Participates in 18 hours of professional development per year that meets licensing requirements.

· Performs duties in a manner that ensures compliance with Child Day Care Licensing rules and regulations.

· Ensures program operates in a way that follows industry quality standards and in accordance with the grant.

· Performs other duties as assigned.
