Job description

  • A loving family is seeking a warm, engaging, and experienced nanny to provide attentive care for an energetic and affectionate 3 year old little girl.
  • This position begins as soon as possible and offers a dynamic schedule that includes afternoon care three days per week, with full-day coverage on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of May.
  • During the school year, the child attends a half-day program Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM–11:00 AM, with afternoon care needed on Mondays and Wednesdays for approximately four hours, and full days on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • The schedule will pause after May and resume in August, though additional or shifting hours may be needed during June and July depending on summer preschool arrangements.
  • The family is seeking a flexible nanny who can adapt as needs evolve.

The ideal candidate is nurturing, calm, patient, and active, with the energy to keep up with a spirited young child who loves being outside, visiting playgrounds, singing, dancing, and creative activities like painting and coloring. An early childhood education background is a strong plus, as the family values someone who can continue fostering learning and development in a thoughtful and engaging way. The child thrives in one-on-one care and would do best with a nanny who can provide a calm, supportive presence, help with emotional regulation when overstimulation arises, and use gentle communication, redirection, and connection to support the child’s needs. The family is looking for someone who can recognize cues, help encourage communication, and create a loving environment where the child can thrive.

Responsibilities

include engaging the child in age-appropriate play and outings, transporting the child in the nanny’s own vehicle to activities or pickups as needed, supporting potty training, preparing meals primarily for the child, assisting with evening routines, occasional dinner prep once or twice per week, and helping with child-related household tasks including the child’s laundry, unloading the dishwasher, and light housekeeping. The family would love to find someone who is affectionate, proactive, dependable, and genuinely passionate about working with young children. Compensation is $20–$25 per hour, based on experience, and the family is hoping to welcome the right nanny within the next two to three weeks.
