Responsibilities
include but are not limited to: Parent education relating to physical and mental well-being Develop / lead / oversee teacher training relating to well-being and SSEL (Spiritual Social Emotional Learning) Develop / lead / oversee student SSEL classes / workshops. Follow up with teachers to ensure that the strategies are being utilized effectively. Coordination of the Root of RISER character development / SSEL theme of the month Coordinating the formation of "path to excellence" plans for students to help them reach their full potential Review student IEPs with school administration on a regular basis. Create Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) for students with IEPs to outline student challenges, needs, and given accommodations. Coordinate with school admin to distribute ILPs with student’s current teachers and to evaluate the effectiveness of the stated accommodations. Recommend bullying prevention programs and strategies to school administration. Review the effectiveness of these programs on a regular basis and suggest changes as necessary. Advise school administration on the public school referral process for special needs student assessment Oversight of student support system and implementation of resolution strategies for escalated student support cases Regular check-ins with students in order to support their physical and mental well-being
Required Skills/Qualities
Master's Degree in school counseling, counseling, guidance, educational psychology, psychology, education, or therapy with relevant coursework Experience as a school psychologist, school counselor, teacher, or therapist Excellent communication skills Outstanding organizational ability Attention to detail Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Good judgment and decision-making aptitude
Preferred Skills/Qualities: 2-3 years of experience working with teachers, students, and families in a school setting
