Position Overview
Building authentic connections with parents, whose children are in foster care, that offer supportive guidance and coaching to assist them as they: navigate through systems (i.e. housing, education, HRA, medical/mental health, etc.), make informed decisions for themselves and their families, and address challenges to accomplish the goal of reunification. The focus of the Parent Advocate role is to bring their lived experience to the agency’s decision-making process while working collaboratively with case planners to promote family well-being and permanency.
Position Qualifications
School Diploma or Equivalency preferred. Lived experience as a parent with Child Welfare involvement. Knowledge of the Foster Care System. Bilingual Spanish Preferred.
