  • Job Description The Learning Specialist is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction and/or tutoring for assigned courses to include, but not be limited to, implementing, revising, and evaluating assigned lessons; utilizing all resources available to innovate and to change to meet program objectives.
  • The Learning Specialist will report directly to the Program Director and/or Coordinator.
  • Hourly rate is $31.82.
  • Anticipated 20-25 hours per week, from June 6 - July 17.
  • Anticipated Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 1:00pm Essential Functions Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.
  • Prepare and deliver instruction and facilitate the learning of students in subject areas such as Science, Math, English, History, or various electives.
  • Develop appropriate instructional plans, and organize daily classes utilizing a variety of creative/innovative techniques.
  • Maintain records of student attendance, student progress, supplies, and equipment.
  • Provide discipline and order during instructional activities.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to be of service and exhibits pleasant and courteous behavior toward customers (students, parents, employers, and media), organizational co- workers, and other general public contacts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certificate.
  • Minimum of three years of successful teaching.
  • Experience working with high school students.
  • Must have great technical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to evaluate student performance, manage classroom, prepare and deliver engaging projects and STAAR based lesson plans.
  • This job description covers a position in which the percentage of time spent on the essential functions will vary based on the workload and will ultimately be determined by the supervisor.
  • Our Summer Program requires walking students to and from activities on/off campus if chaperones are needed.
