Job description

We are looking for a retired preschool teacher who still loves early childhood education and enjoys spending time with young children. This is a wonderful opportunity to stay connected to the classroom in a relaxed, supportive environment—without the demands of a full-time role.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate brings years of classroom experience, patience, and a nurturing presence. This role is perfect for someone who wants to support children’s learning, mentor younger staff, and enjoy meaningful interactions with students.

The hours for this position may vary from 7 am to 2 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities: Include:

Supporting preschool classroom activities and daily routines

Engaging children through play, storytelling, and hands-on learning

Assisting lead teachers with supervision, transitions, and classroom management

Providing a calm, caring, and positive classroom presence

Helping maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment

Qualifications

Previous experience as a preschool or early childhood teacher (required) At least 24 college units in Early Childhood Education or a valid Teacher's Permit/Certification (required)

Background in child development and developmentally appropriate practices

Strong classroom management and positive guidance skills

Ability to build warm, supportive relationships with children, families, and staff

Patience, reliability, and a nurturing, calm demeanor

Knowledge of early learning standards and play-based learning

Comfortable assisting with classroom routines, including transitions, meals, and outdoor play

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team

Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Must meet all state licensing requirements and pass required background checks
