Position Overview

HLA is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team. This role provides instructional support in classrooms. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable across grade levels, and passionate about supporting student learning and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Follow lesson plans and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment. Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support under teacher guidance. Assist classroom teachers with instructional preparation and classroom management. Support students with special needs, following accommodations outlined in IEPs/504 plans. Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and dismissal. Uphold school policies and model professionalism at all times. Contribute to the school’s mission of “Every Student, Every Day.”

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred). Missouri Substitute or Paraprofessional Certification Previous experience in an educational setting preferred. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Ability to collaborate with staff and support diverse student needs. Flexibility and reliability in covering various grade levels and classrooms.
