Job description

Position Summary

Plans, leads, and implements camp program for youth. Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants. Ensures campers and ensure their safety, development, growth, skill achievement and general well-being. These individuals will work with youth ages 5-16.

Essential functions

  • Plans, coordinates, and organizes camp activities for youth. Supervises and participates with campers at activity sites. Mentors and guides youth individually and in groups while using a behavior management system to shape youth behavior. Builds relationships with all campers showing compassions, empathy and understanding. Sets an example for behavior and attitude for campers. Maintains attendance daily, at the beginning and throughout the day. Maintains required camp data. Develops and maintains working relationships with parents/guardians. Transports campers to and from activity sites. Performs other duties as assigned to promote the overall mission and vision of CND.

  • ABILITIES: Commits to learning, creates positive change, and enables youth to learn. Strong verbal communication skills. 1-2 years’ experience working with youth. Ability to engage in physical activities with campers. Ability to work with diverse population. Other Requirements Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license; must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
