Job description

Description Memorial Community Health, Inc. is searching for a Speech Therapist to join our Rehabilitation division. This position will be for part-time or PRN. Primary responsibilities include providing quality speech therapy services including assessment, intervention, program planning, and implementation, documentation, communication as necessary with multi-disciplinary staff, patient and family, to participate in discharge planning as appropriate. Service provision may include direct patient intervention, consultation and education of hospital staff regarding Speech, Therapy services.

Job Duties

Completes diagnosis and treats individuals with communication or swallowing disorders. Implements intervention plans directly or in collaboration with others. Counsels individuals and their families concerning communication disorders and how to cope with the stress and misunderstanding that accompanies them. Maintains complete and accurate records pertinent to patient initial evaluation, progress and discharge and ensures proper documentation and to be in regulatory compliance. Acts as consultant to other agencies. Performs emergency treatment as required in accordance within Speech Therapist scope of practice. Performs and maintains documentation. Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities. Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of patients’ medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained. Complies, understands, and enforces state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of Memorial Community Health operations and requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, Safety and Infection Control, all department and organization-wide policies, and Federal and State of Nebraska regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Graduate Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Two (2) years of speech therapy experience preferred Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Licensure to practice as a Speech Pathologist by the State of Nebraska Basic Life Support (BLS)
