SUMMARY

Provide individual and/or group tutoring to peers students for assigned content area(s). Meet with peers to clarify and review concepts taught in class, explain processes, and help students solve specific problems.

Duties: And responsibilities:

  • The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only.
  • Provide subject-specific content tutoring to help peer students. [Daily, 50%]
  • Help peer students become more confident, more successful, and self-directed learners. [Daily, 25%]
  • Use active listening strategies to allow peer student to determine content and pace of tutoring. [Daily, 15%]
  • Make appropriate referrals to other campus and community resources as needed. [Daily, 5%]
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of 9th and 10th grade high school education.
  • No experience required.
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

  • All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired.

  • Tutoring experience.
