Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned classes in a didactic setting in person at the Modesto Campus
  • Collaborate with didactic and clinical faculty for program development
  • Support the Campus Director and Nursing Program Coordinator with program organization and implementation of standards
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in medical education and ensure continuous medical education requirements at the facility are met

Requirements

  • Must meet BVNPT requirements for faculty candidates, including holding a Bachelor's degree for LVN and RN
  • Instructor must be currently attending or have completed a teaching course offered by an approved school
  • Meet one of the following qualification pathways: (A) Registered Nurse:
  • Hold a current active California Registered Nurse license
  • Have a baccalaureate degree from an approved school, or a valid teaching credential, or minimum one year full-time teaching experience in a state-approved nursing or psychiatric technician school within last 5 years, or meet California community college or state university teaching requirements
  • Have at least two years nursing experience (registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse) within the last five years (B) Licensed Vocational Nurse:
  • Hold a current active California Vocational Nurse license
  • Have a baccalaureate degree from an approved school, or a valid teaching credential, or minimum one year full-time teaching experience in a state-approved nursing or psychiatric technician school within last 5 years, or meet California community college or state university teaching requirements
