- Louis.Job Summary The school nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to students, staff, and faculty and ensuring compliance with the school's and the Archdiocesan healthcare-related policies and procedures.
- The nurse is expected to promote a healthy and safe environment conducive to learning.Job Responsibilities Healthcare Services:
Assess and address the healthcare needs of students and staff. Administer first aid and provide emergency care as needed. Administer medications to students with appropriate consent and documentation. Manage and maintain student health records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal requirements.
Immunization Compliance
Ensure all students meet state and school immunization requirements. Maintain records of immunizations and assist with necessary follow-ups.
Health Promotion
Promote a culture of wellness and preventive healthcare. Participate in school wellness initiatives.
Health Records and Documentation
Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students and staff. Prepare and submit required health reports and documentation to relevant entities.
Healthcare Liaison
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to address health-related concerns. Coordinate with Archdiocesan and local healthcare providers for specialized care when necessary. Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student health issues.
Emergency Preparedness
Develop and update emergency response plans and protocols as they pertain to the medical needs of students Conduct drills and training sessions to ensure staff and students are prepared for medical emergencies. Job Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing is a plus.
- Practicing Catholic preferred or a commitment to promoting a faith-based healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive medical information.
