- The primary purpose of this position is to design, conduct, and oversee all strength and conditioning programs for the University’s athletic teams.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design, implement, and monitor the year-round strength and conditioning workouts for student athletes Design, implement, and educate coaches and student athletes on programs that will best enhance athletic performance and minimize athletic injuries Provide discipline, motivation and instruction to student athletes to enhance improvement and excellence in performance Provide specific skill instruction to student athletes related to performing a variety of training programs and exercises Support student athlete rehabilitation with athletic training staff Educate student athletes about nutrition and supplementation Instruct student athletes about physical health and safety Educate and communicate to staff rules surrounding strength and conditioning parameters as outlined in the NCAA by-laws Supervise fitness center staff including student workers Know and comply with all applicable NCAA, MIAC, and WIAC rules All other duties as requested REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This position reports to: Assistant Vice President and Athletic Director BUDGET MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for the following budget: NA REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KEY COMPETENCIES Experience and sensitivity working with staff and students from diverse backgrounds MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree 2 years experience in strength and conditioning of athletes PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Master’s Degree 3+ years college athletic related experience REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION CPR/AED/First Aid certification National Strength and Conditioning Association OR Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association certification WORKING CONDITIONS / EQUIPMENT Requires the ability to work evenings and weekends for sport or departmental activities Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time Ability to lift at least 25 lbs on an occasional basis ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is a full time, 1.0 FTE, exempt position, 12 months Compensation and Benefits: Pay Range: $50,000 per year Full-Time Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package which may include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance Short- and Long-Term Disability Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity 403(b) 403(b) matching Paid Time off, including vacation time, paid holidays and safe and sick leave time off Employee assistance program Flexible spending account (FSA) Health savings account (HSA) Tuition waiver All questions marked ‘Required’ need to be answered in order to submit the application.
