Job description
An independent school for girls in grades 6-12, inspired by the teachings of the Catholic Church, Montrose School was founded in 1979 and is located in the welcoming community of Medfield, 17 miles southwest of Boston. Montrose School seeks to appoint a temporary Math Learning Support tutor for fifteen (15) hours per week to join our established Academic Support team. The leave coverage extends eight (8) weeks starting at the beginning of September, 2026.
The successful candidate will be an experienced math tutor or teacher of math with strong knowledge of middle and upper school math subjects through PreCalculus -- experience with Statistics a plus.
The candidate will bring a passion and enthusiasm for helping adolescent girls achieve a high level of proficiency in math, eagerness for working one-on-one or with small groups of students and work collegially and cooperatively with current math faculty to fortify student skill and understanding as well as help in some supervisory duties. Sensitivity to the anxiety and confidence needs of struggling math students is essential.
Strong applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, significant coursework in a relevant subject, an appreciation for all-girls’ education, and some teaching/tutoring experience. Our teachers are mentors to individual students and club leaders, with some engaged in coaching.
