Job description
- The Athletic Trainer is responsible for coordinating injury prevention programs and rehabilitation efforts for Park University Athletic department training room.
- Position Accountabilities Monitor athletic events and team practices; provide assessment and treatment to maintain maximum physical fitness for participants in athletic completion.
- Provide first aid techniques and triage as necessary.
- Develop and administer rehabilitation programs for athletes; recommend and implement routine and corrective exercises with modalities and recommend special diets for the development of healthy and reduction of athlete injuries.
- Coordinate the conditioning, treatment, and healthy status of athletes with coaches and physicians.
- Provide athletic injury evaluation, immediate care, and assist the referral of injured athletes in accordance with generally accepted principles of athletic training services.
- Assist in the supervision of graduate students and student assistants; train and develop staff in the athletic training room.
- Position Requirements: Master’s degree required Certification as Athletic Trainer required (NATA) Must be duly licensed or credentialed in accordance with applicable state laws to practice athletic training.
- Physical Requirements Requires frequent lifting, bending, stooping or standing; but be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass Park University’s background check and achieve certification to transport students.
