The Contoocook School, located in Contoocook, NH, is seeking a dynamic Special Education Teacher to join our team and provide focused, real-time instruction to adolescents in grades 6-12 requiring integrated social thinking and executive functioning support.

The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality classroom instruction within a therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented, work well with outside resources and must be able to incorporate individual needs of students within the group learning process.

Responsibilities

include: planning, developing, and implanting lessons tailored to student needs; implementation of IEPs; assessment of student progress; providing instruction across all required content areas; and creativity related to hands-on, experiential learning.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Education or related subject, a NH teaching license or statement of eligibility (SOE) in General Special Education (1900), and experience working with youth with various mental health and special education needs. For individuals with an SOE, we will work with you on your site-based learning plan towards full licensure as a General Special Education teacher.
