Therapeutic Mentor offers structured, one-to-one, strength based support services between a therapeutic mentor and a youth for the purpose of addressing daily living, social, and communication needs. Therapeutic Mentoring services include supporting, coaching, and training the youth in age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication, problem –solving and conflict resolution, and relating appropriately to other children and adolescents, as well as adults, in recreational and social activities.

  • Intensive Therapeutic Mentoring which includes establishing relationships with youth and engaging them in skill building activities: (e.g. increasing impulse control, building socialization skills, delayed gratification, exploring academic pursuits and enhance self
  • esteem.) Identify activities for each child assigned and locate appropriate activities in the community. Develop and implement lesson plans utilizing the clinician’s treatment plan. Document sessions per company policy using EMR to reflect goals and skills worked on during each session, and to ensure timely processing for billing and payroll purposes. Follow-up on service and program inquiries. Collaborate with social workers, care givers, teachers, wraparound facilitators, and school psychologists. Attend wrap-around meetings, staff meetings, and in-service trainings as needed. Attend monthly meeting and trainings Attend weekly supervisions

Requirements

Must have reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license; must be 21 or older; High School Diploma or GED with 2 years related experience; must be able to work evenings and weekends; Bachelor Degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
