Position profile

To advance the mission of Oakland Christian School by supporting the continued development of an authentic Christ-centered community that intentionally cultivates Christ-like character in its students. The Elementary School is dedicated to engaging students in classes and activities that build a spiritual foundation and biblical worldview. We are looking for a 3rd Grade Teacher for the 26/27 School year.

  • General responsibilities
  • Plans and develops an engaging, age and developmentally appropriate course of study in the classroom, adhering to education best practices and school curriculum guidelines.
  • Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  • Planning and Preparation
  • 1. Maintains accurate records of student performance, and reports student progress to parents and/or legal guardians. 2. Uses instructional techniques, materials and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student(s) involved. 3. Follows and develops curriculum guides and creates instructional resources for use in the classroom. 4. Demonstrates evidence of planning through written lesson plans.

  • Maintains a class environment where each child is considered a worthy individual.

  • Maintains discipline that will provide an environment for learning and insure the protection of students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

C Instruction

  • 1.
  • Strives to implement by instruction and action the school’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.

  • Diagnoses the learning needs of students on a regular basis and gears instruction to address their identified needs.

  • Meet course and school wide student performance goals.

  • Create projects designed to enhance instruction.

D. Professional Responsibilities

  • Satisfactorily completes reports, assignments and record keeping activities on time.

Qualifications
