The Personal Soccer Coach plays a key role in developing athletes both on and off the field through individualized coaching, skill development, confidence building, and mentorship.
  • OVERVIEW: The Personal Soccer Coach is responsible for providing high-quality individual and small group soccer training sessions for youth athletes of varying ages and skill levels. Coaches will focus on technical development, tactical awareness, athletic performance, movement quality, and overall athlete confidence in a positive and supportive YMCA environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about youth development, soccer performance, leadership, and helping athletes reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities Soccer Skill Development Lead private and semi-private soccer training sessions
  • Develop age-appropriate technical training including: Ball control Passing and receiving Shooting and finishing Dribbling and attacking moves
  • First touch development

  • Incorporate: Speed and agility training Change of direction mechanics Coordination and balance Functional movement training Injury prevention exercises Utilize progressive training methods appropriate for athlete age and ability Athlete Support & Mentorship Build positive relationships with athletes and families Encourage confidence, leadership, resilience, and sportsmanship Help athletes set goals and track progress Create a motivating and inclusive training environment Program & YMCA Expectations Arrive prepared and on time for all sessions Maintain a safe and organized training space Communicate professionally with members, parents, and staff Promote YMCA programs and services when appropriate Follow all YMCA policies, safety procedures, and child protection guidelines Physical Requirements Ability to demonstrate drills and movement patterns Ability to stand, move, run, and actively coach for extended periods Ability to lift and carry training equipment up to 40 lbs YMCA Competencies Relationship Building Communication Inclusion Leadership Youth Development Safety & Risk Management Why Work for the YMCA?
