Responsibilities
Conducts speech and language screenings without clinical interpretation, using screening protocols specified by the licensed Speech Language Pathologist Implements and follows documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the Speech Language Pathologist Documents patient or client progress toward meeting established objectives, as stated in the treatment plan without interpretation of the findings, and reports this information to the supervising Speech Language Pathologist Assists with informal documentation during an intervention session by collecting and tallying data as directed by the Speech Language Pathologist Schedules activities, prepares materials and assists with clerical duties as specified by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist Programs and provides instruction on the use of augmentative and alternative communication devises. Performs checks and maintenance of equipment Maintains and submits treatment and billing documentation in the format and timelines required by the Company, facility, funding source, local, state and federal regulations. Adheres to standards of the Company's Code of Business Conduct, policies, Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act and Corporate Compliance programs and appropriate professional practice standards and applicable state/federal laws Attends, participates in and/or conducts internal staff development programs and meetings; obtains continuing education as required by company policy and regulations; maintains and enhances clinical practice skills Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
An associate’s degree from a training program for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants or a bachelor's degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program approved by the state Speech Language and Hearing licensing board Maintains current, unrestricted professional license, registration, and/or certification as required by the state in which the assistant practices Complies with any additional requirements of the assigned contract and state practice acts for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants and any other state regulations for state in which practicing Current Basic Life Support or cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification in accordance state regulations Knowledge of complex neurological injuries and rehabilitation techniques generally required Demonstrates effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Demonstrates strong organization skills and attention to detail About our Line of Business Pate Rehabilitation, an affiliate of Rehab Without Walls, provides evidence-based physical, occupational, speech/language, and neurocognitive therapies, as well as vocational rehabilitation, to advance and accelerate patient recovery – helping individuals suffering from an acquired brain injury return to a high quality of life.
