Job description

Lifesteps, a Western PA non-profit agency, is currently recruiting for a Full-time Behavior Specialist to work with individuals and participants who are assigned to Lifesteps community homes program. This new, full-time position can be based at our office in Eighty Four, PA or our office in Castle Shannon, PA (Pittsburgh). The role will travel throughout Allegheny and Washington Counties to provide services to adults with intellectual disabilities.

Job Duties

  • The Behavioral Specialist performs a functional assessment and develops strategies to support a participant accordingly.
  • Provides on-site training to participants, staff, parents and caregivers and monitors participant success.
  • Develops effective behavior support plans to be utilized by the care team and evaluates participant progress.

The work hours are daytime, Monday through Friday 8

00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services or a closely related field.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Current driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis and experience working with adults with an intellectual disability
  • ABA Certification
  • PA Behavior Specialist Licensure
