The Learning Experience in Astoria is seeking a passionate, experienced, and highly motivated Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team. This role is responsible for leading a structured, engaging, and developmentally rich classroom that prepares children ages 2–4 for continued academic and social success.

We are looking for a strong classroom leader who understands early childhood development, can confidently manage behavior, and is able to implement curriculum in a meaningful and engaging way.

Responsibilities

Lead a preschool classroom (ages 2–4) and maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with center standards Support children’s cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical development Foster school readiness skills, including early literacy, social skills, and independence Establish and maintain consistent daily routines and transitions Maintain strong, professional communication with families regarding progress and development Follow all DOH Article 47 regulations and center policies Supervise and guide assistant teachers within the classroom Maintain accurate documentation, assessments, and daily reports

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience working in a daycare center (preschool experience preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education REQUIRED Strong understanding of child development for ages 2–4 Experience with curriculum planning and classroom management Ability to guide behavior in a positive, developmentally appropriate way Reliable, punctual, and professional Strong communication and leadership skills Must meet all state requirements (medical, background check, fingerprinting) What We’re Looking For:
