The Goddard School located in Chicago (South Loop), IL 60616 is looking for motivated self-starters for multiple positions as a Daycare Teachers at our new preschool for ages ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years. Our state of the art facility is expanding in the South Loop neighbourhood of Chicago downtown, just blocks away from CTA and Metra Electric.

Overview

A Lead Infant Teacher is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally a teacher is responsible to work together with another teacher and in conjunction with the entire faculty.

Educational Qualifications

An Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field is preferred. Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification. Lead Infant Teacher Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment Develop an appropriate classroom management system to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements Perform cleaning responsibilities (e.g., spills) immediately Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence Adapt program to meet the individual needs of each child Create a multi-cultural learning environment Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to engage children in learning Respect cultural and ethnic diversity Communicate, in a professional manner, with families and faculty Encourage families to become an integral part of their children’s learning experiences Maintain a portfolio for each child Maintain the classroom Parent Board Perform child observations and document in their portfolios, Use assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Children’s Progress) Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences and professional growth opportunities #Signing Bonus
