Job Description
An opportunity to work with K-8th students through leading or assisting with summer camps at Kings Valley Charter School. K-8 Summer Learning Program that will run July 27-August 14, Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm. The program structure will include: Morning- Literacy instruction Afternoon- Enrichment and camp-style activities Enrichment activities should continue to intentionally incorporate literacy components through discussion, vocabulary, writing, reflection, and other activities.
Duties
Provide a positive camp environment for KVCS students and be a positive role model. Lead or assist with the skills necessary for successful performance. Monitor student behavior during camps. Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Uphold and enforce school rules and policies as described in the school handbook and summer camp behavior contract. Attend all scheduled events and meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Must have patience to handle student needs. Physical Demands: Persons performing service in this position classification may exert 20-25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work may involve running, walking, or standing. Desirable Specialty Skills: Appropriate certifications, such as an archery instructor certification. Knowledge of the technical aspects of camp activities. Experience working in camps with K-8th students. Strong communication skills.
