JOB GOAL
Responsible for implementation of health programs, health counseling with pupils, parents, and school personnel, provision of preventive health services, augmentation of health education programs, and liaison with the school community

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR, First Aid and Medication Certification preferred at hire or within 3 months of hire.
- 0 – 2 years experience in working with children is preferred.
- Experience working in related fields is preferred.
Knowledge and skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
- Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
Key responsibilities
- Provides direct health care, emergency first aid and care, and related health services according to SST SCHOOLS policies and procedures.
- Provides preventive health care by: providing appraisals, screening programs, referral and follow-up; recognizing, reporting, and using control measures on communicable diseases; and monitoring and providing follow-up on immunization needs.
- Provides families with information on health and medical resources and assists families to access medical care.
- Conducts health counseling, makes home visits, and follows through on health problems as needed.
- Conducts specific health instruction for students, parents, and staff and serves as a resource to staff regarding health instruction.
- Maintains and submits Student Immunization Records to Department of State Health Services
- Contacts parents regarding Immunization requirements
- Performs state mandated student screenings and submits results to Department of State Health Services
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Work environment and physical requirements
- Light
- Work: may require occasional light lifting.
- Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
- Position is in an office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
- Moderate travel is required.
