- Function: Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to join its Speech Program. Reporting to the Division Chair of Communication and Fine Arts, this Speech faculty member will support student success by preparing curriculum, including writing syllabi, developing new courses, selecting textbooks, etc.; developing and teaching Speech classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods; teaching on campus and at offsite locations, including local high schools; assisting in the advisement of students; and serving on various assigned college committees.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech or a master's degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Speech from a regionally accredited college or university; teaching experience at the community college level desirable; interest in alternative instructional delivery methods; demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations; excellent written and oral communication skills; other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one's value to the institution; exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met;
