About the Role
As a Job Coach, you will provide one-on-one employment support to Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community workplace settings. You’ll help Individuals learn and perform job duties, build confidence and independence, communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers, and identify accommodations and natural workplace supports that contribute to long-term success. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, patient, adaptable, and passionate about creating inclusive employment opportunities.
What You'll Do Provide 1
- 1 support on the job to assist
- Individuals with: Learning new job tasks and workplace expectations Communicating effectively with supervisors and co-workers Identifying and developing natural workplace supports Support Individuals in identifying needed workplace accommodations or adaptations. Collaborate with employers to understand job duties, performance expectations, and reasonable accommodations. Coordinate with behavioral, medical, and other support providers involved in the Individual’s services. Support Individuals in developing workplace independence, confidence, self-advocacy, and problem-solving skills. Monitor progress and adjust coaching strategies to promote job success and retention. Perform all support needs outlined in the Individual Support Plan (ISP) and Career Development Plan. Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with Individuals supported, families, guardians, employers, coworkers, Premier staff, and external agency representatives. Communicate respectfully and professionally with all individuals and community partners while representing Premier Community Supports. Complete all required documentation for each shift worked, including supports provided, progress toward goals, and relevant updates in accordance with agency and program requirements. Document services accurately in MITC using person-centered language. Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures for fires, accidents, severe weather, and similar emergencies while ensuring the health and safety of Individuals supported. Work cooperatively with all Premier support and management staff. Promptly report any observed or suspected abuse, neglect, mistreatment, or safety concerns to supervisors and appropriate authorities.
- Schedule & Work Environment Work schedules vary depending on the Individual’s employment schedule and support needs.
- May include morning, daytime, evening, or weekend hours.
- Primary work setting includes community job sites and local businesses.
- Regular travel within the community may be required.
- Physical demands may include standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.

Requirements
Education & Experience Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred Experience working with Individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred Experience supporting Individuals in employment settings, caregiving, or community-based services preferred Working knowledge of Individual Support Plans (ISP), Person-Centered Approaches, and Positive Behavior Supports preferred
Required Skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and effectively Strong interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills Ability to communicate effectively with people of varying communication styles and abilities Strong organizational and time-management skills Detail-oriented with accurate documentation skills Ability to exercise good judgment during challenging or crisis situations Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and Individual needs Basic understanding of remote work applications and software Ability to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, dignity, and respect in all interactions Ability to provide attendant care and effective skills training when needed Ability to assess emergencies and respond appropriately
Certifications & Requirements Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required Current CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain) Ability to complete all 12 required core competency training courses for Job Coaches within 30 days of hire Ability to pass required background checks in accordance with state regulations
