Job Details The Health Educator is responsible for developing and delivering community-based health education programs and outreach initiatives focused on reducing health disparities among diverse populations. This role includes facilitating both in-person and virtual presentations, workshops, health screenings, and educational sessions in community settings such as schools, faith-based organizations, senior centers, and other partner sites. The Health Educator collaborates with community leaders, stakeholders, and clients to promote health awareness and connect individuals to appropriate community resources and services. The position requires strong communication, facilitation, organizational, and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to travel between multiple program locations in a single day, with occasional evening and weekend hours required.
Job Description
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop, update, and maintain culturally appropriate health education materials and program content
- Facilitate interactive and engaging health education programming to patients and community members
- Conduct blood pressure screenings and provide basic health education to community members during outreach activities and events
- Engage community members at outreach events and assist with enrollment into health education series, workshops, and wellness programs.
- Ensure completion of health education pre- and post-surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and materials and accurately upload survey data into REDCap.
- Manage, upload, retrieve, and maintain data using REDCap and various Microsoft applications to support program operations, reporting, and outreach activities QUALIFICATIONS: Education - Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Education or related field Education - Preferred
- Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Education or related field Experience - Required
- 3 years of relevant experience in health education or training facilitation to adults
