Job Description
Summary: The Advanced Practice Fellowship is a one-year program designed to provide an opportunity for recent graduates to build clinical experience and to support the Advanced Practice Providers (APP), Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), in their transition into practice by providing the opportunity to gain valuable measurable skills and affirm their confidence as they advance in their role. This position provides intensive post-graduate APP training and experience to prepare APPs to practice in various care settings. Throughout the program, the fellow will be under the guidance and coaching of Medical Directors, the APP Director, and clinical preceptors. The preceptor will provide routine feedback on progress and performance. The APP Fellow will provide added value for patients and providers and works in collaboration with the physician and clinical preceptor in the hospital-based inpatient setting. The APP works under direction and in consultation/collaboration with physician. Assesses and evaluates patients, H&Ps, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, et cetera. Assists in diagnostic and invasive procedures. Pre-operative and post-operative care, writing orders, discharges, et cetera. Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives. Meet fellowship objectives and demonstrate competency in acute patient care and practice management. Participates in fellowship coursework, shadowing, and other clinical observations. Responsibilities And Duties: Works under direction and in consultation/collaboration with physician and may perform services authorized by the supervising/collaborating physician that are part of the physician's normal course of practice and expertise. Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives. Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician in like practice. Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her/their SA/SCA and delineation of privileges.
