Summer Camp Counselor

The day camp counselor leads a specific age group of children through a schedule of daily activities, facilitating learning, play, exploration, sports, swimming, and positive relationship development. Counselors are expected to model the y's core leadership values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old and possess a strong passion for working with and nurturing children, along with prior experience interacting with children in settings like youth programs or camps. Candidates must also demonstrate cultural sensitivity, effective communication, knowledge of group process, and commit to the ymca mission, while potentially needing current first aid, cpr, and oxygen certifications or the ability to complete required training upon hire.
