Instructional Assistant - General Education, 1st Grade

The instructional assistant supports classroom teachers by implementing instructional activities, assisting with planning, organizing, and evaluating lessons, and ensuring a safe and encouraging environment for all students. This role involves working directly with individual students or small groups across various curricular areas as directed by licensed teachers or administrators.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or ged and either be pursuing an associate’s degree in an early childhood field or hold a child development associate (Cda) credential, making progress annually if still pursuing the degree. Essential abilities include knowledge of instructional methods, core subjects for the grade level, supporting diverse learners, maintaining confidentiality (Ferpa), and effective collaboration.
