Head Start Teacher Aide

The teacher assistant supports the head start teacher by organizing classroom space and assisting in planning developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children to explore, question, and learn by doing. This role also involves supporting curriculum implementation, monitoring child progress through assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Candidates are required to have a cda certification or an associate degree in early childhood education or a related field, or must enroll in such a program upon hire. Essential qualifications include being a mandated reporter, proficiency in english communication, ability to follow instructions, basic computer skills, and the capacity to substitute for the head start teacher when necessary.
