Core responsibilities
The special education teacher will develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with iep goals, delivering direct instruction tailored to academic, behavioral, social-Emotional, and communication needs. This role also requires close collaboration with clinical staff, data collection to monitor progress, and maintaining a safe, structured learning environment.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a bachelor's or master's degree in special education or a related field, along with a valid illinois professional educator license (Pel) endorsed with lbs1. Experience in therapeutic day school settings or similar clinical/Behavioral environments is preferred, alongside a commitment to trauma-Informed, student-Centered teaching.
