General Functions: Under the direction of the Early Learning Center Childcare Director, the Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a quality program that is within the guidelines set forth by the center and all governing bodies. Some Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: Develop and implement a developmentally age-appropriate preschool program. Create a classroom environment in accordance with goals and philosophy. Builds children’s esteem and provides a secure, safe environment. Follow the given curriculum that promotes literacy and pre-kindergarten readiness skills Lead, manage, and delegate tasks in the classroom-to-classroom staff as appropriate. Communicates effectively with parents Ensures classrooms and equipment are well maintained, clean and safe. Provides Monthly newsletter detailing weekly activities and curriculum to parents.

Requirements

Education and Experience Minimum of an associate's degree in early childhood development or related field. A minimum of 1 year experience working in a childcare setting Must have a satisfactory background check per NY Statewide Central Register Database and NYS Justice Center standards.
