Job description
JOB SUMMARY As a Gymnastics Instructor, you will safely lead members and participants through fun and engaging gymnastics classes. You will provide instruction in gymnastics practices while developing participant’s confidence, skills and abilities.
- Essential functions
- Build collaborative relationships with participants and parents to retain class numbers.
- Instruct participants on proper form and encourage growth in the sport.
- Record participant progress on skills and report this to the supervisor.
- Complete class recommendation forms with feedback for parents in a timely manner.
- Maintain safety of both participants and equipment at all times.
- Find substitute instructors as needed and provide a prepared lesson plan for them.
- Take attendance on a daily basis.
- Act according to facility protocol to ensure safety of all staff and children which includes:
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with staff and children.
- Attend required abuse risk management training.
- Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Skills and training
- One year experience in gymnastics or related teaching experience required.
- Knowledge of gymnastics terms and skills and the ability to break skills down to a teachable level.
- Instructors must be at least 14 years of age.
