Core responsibilities
The youth counselor will work directly with residents, primarily males aged 10-15, to maintain a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment while acting as a positive role model and advocate. Key duties include maintaining constant supervision, supporting daily routines and therapeutic programming, monitoring safety, documenting observations, and assisting with transport and communication with external professionals.
Requirements summary
Applicants must be at least 20 years old, possess a high school diploma or ged, and have a valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle. Candidates must also be able to complete mandt & cpi training within 90 days and manage moderate physical demands, though a bachelor's degree in a human services field and prior experience working with at-Risk youth are preferred.
