- Impact: RBTs work with individuals with Autism and other Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) to reduce challenging behaviors, increase functional skills, and foster independence and individuality. Our Big Island Behavioral Health Team provides care in a school-based setting working for local school districts on Big Island. Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams. Respect the values, thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes of clients and families Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment Document interventions and progress towards goals Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals Provide support to the client in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships, and building independence in their school routine Supports school age children to succeed with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
