- Type: Part TimeThe Kinkaid School is always interested in learning of talented, qualified educators who wish to serve as substitute teachers. Preference is given to candidates with substantial experience and successful applicants must pass a screening, interview and background check. Once selected, substitutes are placed on the school’s substitute list and called whenever there is an opening. Duties and responsibilities Substitutes provide supervision and instruction to students in pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade on an as-needed basis. Minimum duration of assignment is half a day. Most assignments are a full day and more rarely, several days. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education A minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably at a private school. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Core knowledge of the development of school-aged children A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and to Kinkaid’s four core values of honesty, responsibility, respect, and kindness.
