Explore more about the college here. Job Overview: Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. QualificationsEssential Functions: Must be observant, safety-conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor Complete records and reports Participate in regular in-service training Maintain fitness level (swimming skills, strength and endurance) Complete additional duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director Maintain cleanliness of facility Able to work flexible schedules Qualifications: Minimum age of 16 Current certification in the following: Lifeguarding American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Pre-employment testing of lifeguarding knowledge and skills Remains calm and objective when under pressure or when challenged by others Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures Leadership and public relations skills Decision-making skills Albertus Magnus College is strongly committed to the principles and practices of diversity throughout the College community.
