Overview: The focus of this position will be for Adult Gerontology Acute Care

Position Summary

Provides classroom and clinical/laboratory instruction for College of Nursing students in the nursing major including preparation of content, assignments, and evaluation of student clinical and academic progress. Interacts with health team members in cooperating clinical agencies to facilitate student learning and to promote quality-nursing care for patients. Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the College of Nursing total educational programs. Acts as a change agent and leader to create a preferred future for nursing education and nursing practice.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

DNP (Doctorate Nursing Practice) OR PhD Prepared Assistant Professor who is certified as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP At least two years’ experience in clinical nursing as required by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of DNP or PhD Previous teaching experience, preferably in a graduate program Licensure/Certifications: Licensure in Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) Licensure in Illinois as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN); Certification in population specific focus, i.e., Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Other skills/knowledge: Communication and interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with students, peers, and cooperating clinical agencies to provide an environment conducive to student learning.
