Position: School Nurse (Full-Time)

The Baldwin School is seeking a Full-time School Nurse beginning in the 2026-27 school year, with responsibility to support the learning experience of students by providing first aid to students and evaluating their need for other forms of care, referring them to the appropriate resources.

Successful candidates will have an understanding of and appreciation for girls' education. They will serve as the point person for all student health issues during the school day. Under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Health and Wellness, they will assist in developing and implementing health policies and procedures that support the school's mission and comply with federal, state, and local laws. The School Nurse provides advice and makes recommendations to the Assistant Athletic Director for Health and Wellness regarding students' specific health issues, which may impact their learning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students pre-K to 12 for illness or injury during the school day;
  • Work collaboratively with health care providers, students, parents, faculty/staff, and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care for students;
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for families regarding student health concerns, care plans, and required medical documentation;
  • Maintain the upkeep of the Wellness center, including inventory and ordering of supplies;
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, including student health histories;
  • immunizations, and injury documentation, utilizing the school's electronic health record system (Magnus Health);
  • Supervise and update the school's medication policy, administering medication of various sorts, including inhalers and oral medication, in accordance with RN licensure, physicians' orders, and school policy;
  • Monitor and manage communicable diseases and health-related absences;
  • Collaborate with the Wellness team to develop procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Health and Wellness and other School Nurses to establish reasonable measures to prevent communicable diseases; and
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and the Head of School.

Required Qualifications Include

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or another related field;
  • RN licensed in Pennsylvania;
  • First Aid and CPR Certification;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and work independently or in a group setting;
  • Proficiency with Google Suites;
  • A commitment to creating and supporting an inclusive community; and
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Include:
  • A School Nurse Certificate and a Public Health Certificate;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience, preferably in pediatrics, school health, or community health.
