The parent support partner provides peer-To-Peer support, education, and training to families receiving services, acting as an example and mentor to other parents. This role involves empowering families toward independence through skill-Building interventions, helping them access community resources, and partnering with service providers so family members can remain in the community.

Requirements summary

Candidates must be 18 years or older and be a parent or primary caregiver of a child who has or has had emotional, behavioral, and/Or mental health challenges. Essential qualifications include general knowledge of relevant public systems (Mental health, special education, juvenile justice, child welfare) and the ability to build partnerships while maintaining a respectful, non-Judgmental attitude.
