Core responsibilities
The primary role is to ensure students with disabilities learn and achieve their highest potential by identifying individual needs and creating a supportive learning environment, acting as a case manager, data collector, and liaison to parents. This teacher must provide academic and behavior support to ensure student access to tier 1 instruction and proficiency on standard and alternate assessments.
Requirements summary
Candidates must hold a valid tennessee teaching certification in
Special education (Endorsements
144, 145, 460, or 461) and possess a bachelor's degree, with the ability to obtain a tennessee license if certified elsewhere. Required knowledge includes idea, current state special education rules, and experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities, alongside strong organizational and technology skills.
