Position Summary

The Preschool Substitute Teacher is responsible for temporarily supporting the classroom in the absence of the lead or assistant teacher. This role ensures a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children while maintaining the daily routine and expectations of the preschool program.

Key Responsibilities: · Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom

· Follow lesson plans and classroom schedules left by the regular teacher

· Lead classroom activities such as circle time, play, meals, and transitions

· Maintain a positive, patient, and supportive attitude with children

· Manage classroom behavior using appropriate guidance techniques

· Communicate effectively with staff and administration

· Keep the classroom clean, organized, and prepared for daily use

· Report any incidents, concerns, or important updates to administration

Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent required (CDA or early childhood coursework preferred)

· Experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting preferred

· Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and routines

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Must pass background screening and meet state licensing requirements
